Abstract |
This study investigated university students’ preference for writing tasks. 370 freshmen participated and they revealed their needs and preference for writing tasks and education. The results of analysis showed that participants focused on writers’ immanent or extrinsic elements when they prefer certain writing tasks. Writers’ subjectivities, self-examination or interaction, learning for writing, content learning, level of writer’s knowledge and instructors grading were the influence factors on participants’ preference for writing tasks. these results mean that researchers and writing educators should consider various elements harmoniously to construct writing tasks and writing education. |
