A Study on design and development of adult learner-friendly curriculum for general education

Abstract
Many universities nationwide have established and operated colleges that provide education for adult learners in response to the demand for lifelong education. These colleges generally provide adult learners with liberal arts education for school-age learners. This study amis to design a general education curriculum and operational plans considering the characteristics of adult learners. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, problems of the operation of the general education through the literature review were identified, and surveys and interviews were conducted with adult learners, potential learners, instructors, and staffs. The survey included 84 participants, and a questionnaire survey was conducted on the objectives of general education, the curriculum framework, operation plans, and improvement opinions. The results of this study are expected to provide implications for the organization and operation of general education curriculum for adult learners.
