The Analysis of Career Curriculum of General Education based on Core Competences at University

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance and achievement of career competency of the undergraduate students by taking the career-related subjects of general education course in P University. The participants of this study were 2,056 students who took the career-related subjects of the general education course in the 2015 fall term. After taking the subjects, the survey asked students their opinions on career planning, course frequency, sub-factors of career capacity, achievements, improvements and important degrees of career competence. The questionnaire consisted of 13 items. The results for a major factor of improving career competency showed that ‘capability using information technology’ and ‘global capability’ had higher than other capabilities. The students said that self-management capability is dealing with important in the curriculum. The analysis of achievement had higher results in ‘capability using information technology’ than other capabilities. Through this research, it is necessary to consider the re-structuring of general education curriculum considering career-related factors that students perceive as important, so that all-round education can be done. Also, It is necessary to complement the cooperation system with related departments.
