A Study on Utilization of e-learning in General Education at University Level: Focus on Contents Sharing among Universities

Abstract
This study aims to explore teaching methods utilizing e-learning in general education at university level. Specifically, we try to find a way in which an instructor, who is willing to introduce e-learning to general education, can easily utilize e-learning in his or her courses. In particular, considering the features of general education that many similar, or even same subjects are open and maintained, we suggest e-learning courses that many universities can utilize in collaboration with each other. As a result of examining the general education courses utilizing e-learning, various forms of teaching method can be found from teaching mainly in online space to using some contents restrictively in a face-to-face lecture room. To make it possible to successfully share these diverse e-learning contents between universities, the contents need to be developed in a segmented form from the planning stage, so that other universities can easily use it. Above all, to stimulate the communal utilization of general education between universities, not only contents producers but also contents users need to cooperate each other for the sake of quality of e-learning contents in general education.
