A Study of Qualitative Case about Community Service Learning for Developing University Students’ Creativity

Abstract
The modern society demands practical ability to find and solve problems in a given situation. In order to fulfill these needs, universities are offering service learning that connect communities and knowledge. The purpose of this study is to investigate the learning process by conducting community service learning which can develop creativity for university students and to confirm the attitudes and perceptions of university students about community service learning. The CmPS was applied to service learning to develop creative problem solving ability. The CmPS was applied to the “Community Service and Action” class and this study identified the changes of course of teaching and learning. The researchers recorded a study diary about the situation or changes in class and analyzed the data that interviewed three times each with seven students who were qualified for the research conditions in study. This study found that community service learning could be taught by applying creative problem solving processes and develop creativity through team based learning. And community service learning helped students develop positive selfconcepts, attitude and belonging to the community.
