Abstract |
Since the liberation, the Korean language education in liberal arts college curriculum started as a , transformed into , and now developed into with a variety of forms and contents. Since 2000, writing classes have been required to teach not only communication skills needed in the information and communication age, but also nearly every basic skills required by contemporary society.
This study proposes a new method of teaching based on the cases of writing classes in many universities. In so doing, it pays attention to the situation in which Korean language and literature lecturers teach most of the writing classes. In particular, it proposes to (1) link writing classes with reading classes, (2) teach process-based writing, and (3) make use of knowledge about Korean language and literature in various ways.
Now, writing classes need to get over the myth of all-purpose education, and search for a more sustainable teaching methods and contents in the longer term. This paper will contribute to the enhancement of writing education in general and the useful application of Korean language and literature experts’ knowledge in particular. |
