The purpose of this study is to establish and defend a position for arts education as a cognitive academic subject which, with the application of philosophical inquiries to its curriculum, is capable of contributing to training artistic individuals to solve various problems associated with social changes in light of the extended role arts play in society. This study ultimately seeks to apply pedagogy of ‘philosophical inquiries unit’ to arts curriculum, in terms of practical application of an educational model, to enhance thinking ability of learners.

And, this study will aid teachers and students in solving complex social problems and develop critical thinking skills. Moreover, the educational undertone of this study is to provide a foundation for arts education as a cognitive activity and therefore suggest that arts curriculum with thinking skills as its basic topic is an effective tool for promoting thinking ability in students.
