Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to analyze examples of the reorganization of the general education curriculum at C University and to explore the proper direction for general education curriculum reorganization. The following major issues related to general education curriculum reorganization were reviewed by analyzing previous studies. First, the purpose of general education is not clear. Second, university members have little interest or misunderstanding in general education. Third, the university does not have the proper organization to work the general education curriculum. Fourth, research on the general education curriculum is focused on comparative research.
Since then, this study has suggested the problems that emerged from C University and the direction of the reorganization of the general education curriculum derived from the practical process to solve them. First, the purpose of the general education curriculum needs to be specified. Second, it is necessary to secure expertise for general education curriculum reorganization. Third, systematicity is necessary for the general education curriculum. Fourth, the subjects of the general education curriculum should be improved. Fifth, it is necessary to secure the academic diversity of general education and to alleviate large deviations between subjects. Sixth, it is necessary to improve the members awareness of the general education curriculum. Seventh, the policy of cyber lectures needs to be revised. Eighth, stable manpower was needed to improve the general education curriculum. Ninth, a supervisory system for general education curriculum is needed. Efforts taken to solve and overcome the problems C university has shown will help to reorganize the general curriculum of other universities. |
