Abstract |
This thesis suggests the future direction through the effects and diagnosis of Writing Clinic which is a web-based system performed by Kyungsung University in 2017-2018. Through the consultation with the Korea National Institute for General Education in 2017, the necessity to introduce the writing clinic system was rising in Kyungsung University. In order to overcome this limitation, the has been operated as an extra-curriculum since the second semester of 2017, to replace the existing corrections performed informally and privately. As a web-based program in charge of professor’s corrective instruction on students’ writing process and results, the Writing Clinic was composed of a process in which students autonomously applying every semester would write six times. Even though it was a relatively short period, the high participation and achievement of students could be a huge outcome. Also, through the current operating status so far, the necessity of improvement was rising. Based on the results of operation, this study suggested the tasks such as the improvement of pre-writing diagnostic assessment items, necessity to introduce the self-diagnostic assessment and post-assessment of writing, necessity of binary operation of the system, recruit of a full-time researcher or professional tutor for the clinic, urgency to develop a standard assessment table or correction standard manual, necessity to establish the offline writing, and necessity of incentives for students and participating professors. With these improvement measures, this study aims to seek for the future of basic general education of Kyungsung University. |
