Effects of Personality Education Program for the University Student s Self-esteem, Commnicative competence, and Interpersonal competence

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of personality education program for university students. This personality education program based on the book revised by Lee et al.(2016) to develop personality for university students. Proving the effects of personality education program for university students, the researcher selected G-university students as a control group, and D-university students as a experimental group and compared two groups’ scores of self-esteem, communicative competence, inter-personal competence to the pre-test, post-test. The research method was carried out the pre-test, post-test and followed up paired t-test using SPSS 21.0. Insptecting similarity of the experiment group and the control group, the researcher carried out a independent t-test . To observe the difference between two groups’ scores of self-esteem, communicative competence, inter-personal competence to the pre-test as a covariate, and post-test as a dependent variable, the researcher implemented ANCOVA to verify the effects of personality education program. The results of this program significantly showed the improvement of self-esteem, communicative competence comparing to the two groups. But interpersonal competence significantly showed the improvemnet within only experimental groups. On the bais of the result above, this study concludes that personality education program for university students has the positive effects on the self-esteem, communicative competence, and interpersonal competence.
