Abstract |
The present study is devoted to evaluating a degree of gratification of the Honors Program Curriculum (henceforth, HPC), an education program for the scientifically gifted, and exploring a method of promoting and assessing the HPC. For the assessment of the degree of satisfaction of the HPC, a multi-assessment has been conducted which has used various assessment methods in which HP students, professors, and parents were asked to do a teaching evaluation and a satisfaction questionnaire, and to have an interview. The results reveals that the students demonstrated a high degree of gratification of HP course evaluations as well as the satisfaction questionnaire of HPC. Besides, they said that they had made a positive change in the development of leadership and the promotion of the global communication ability after being selected as HP students. It has also revealed in the assessment made by the professor that the professors were satisfied with a small size of class and the classroom atmosphere. The survey also shows that the students got excellent grades from the courses they were taking. Parents interest and degree of satisfaction were investigated indirectly in the assessment conducted by the parents. On the basis of the findings in the present study, we have proposed an alternative to improve the HPC, and a direction toward the evaluation of curriculum. |
