Abstract |
The purpose of the study is to develop a group counselling program which can promote an interpersonal competency in students, who live in Residential College(RC). The Group Counselling Program for Interpersonal Competency Enhancement was developed through the process of need analysis and expert consultation. In order to confirm the effectiveness of the group counselling program, it was implemented on a group of students living in RC. The surveys were conducted as pre-test and post-test, and Wilcoxon signed-rank test was used to identify the effectiveness of the program. The interpersonal skills of student were significantly promoted after participating the program. All four factors, (e.g., initiation, negative assertion, disclosure, conflict) except for emotional support, are significantly increased. The study is important because it has developed a group counseling program for promoting interpersonal competency and to confirm the enhancement to the RC students. |
