Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to suggest a direction for course development to support undergraduate international students by examining their academic adjustment. For this purpose, 13 international students, 3 professors of foreigner majority majors, and 9 Korean students(tutor) were interviewed first, then a survey developed based on the focus group interview results asked international students about learning status, learning ability, and difficulty in academic performance at a university in Seoul. The main results are as follows. International students were an underprepared state to achieve major related education achievement. Also the results confirmed that there was a perception that all aspects related to learning adjustment were difficult with the exception of some learning skills of indirect affected to academic achievement. Therefore, this study suggests that academic skill education needs to be made by the university that will embrace international students upon the freshmen. |
