Exploration on New Frame of Liberal Education in University

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore a new frame of liberal education in university. The summary of the discussion so far is as follows: First, the researcher conceptualizes liberal education from the belief on fundamental ability and the improvement of the ability. Human beings are originally born with fundamental ability . They have the ability to form the concept themselves and to read the world(intelligence), and the ability to form the morality of belief in living with each other(morality). The researcher conceptualizes these two abilities as fundamental abilities . Human builds a survival system with these abilities and overcomes difficulties related to their living. Liberal education is to develop the fundamental ability. Second. liberal education should pursue to the new frame. The new frame aimed at liberal education is as follows. In the macro frame, it need to be changed the liberal education curriculum from ‘learning skills’ to ‘cultural heritage’ and ‘world understanding’. The present value scheme of rote learning - test situation - test ability - practical function·employment shifts to the value scheme of understanding and inquiry experience - learning situation - learning ability - creating job world . In the content and method of education, the liberal education provides experience of theme immersion and experience of collaborative learning based on project as a methodology to develop understanding and inquiry ability of real world. Third, the responsible education for liberal education is required. Universities should pursue the education that is responsible not only for their majors but also for liberal arts. On that basis, universities should clearly promise to the responsibility of effect on liberal education.
