Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to present the evaluation category and criteria of selfintroduction in the liberal education of universities. In the liberal writing education of universities, self-introduction is one of the genres that are often educated but not diversely educated. However, considering the aspect of the contents of the liberal writing education according to the competency required for the learners living in the modern society, the writing of the self-introduction statement can be reconstructed into the contents of education for the learner to develop the problem solving ability to form the knowledge creatively. In the liberal writing education of universities aiming at improvement of problem solving ability, self-introduction statement is a writing that should increase the acceptance possibility by expressing and constructing linguistically while assuming the specific figure of reader. The evaluation categories that can be set in light of these characteristics are ‘initiative of communication context’, ‘acceptability of reader’, ‘personality of self expression’, and ‘self-unity’. As a result of analyzing the articles of university students by designing the task to evaluate these categories, it was found that set the context of self-introduction and accordingly various language composition methods. While the teaching and learning process has been designed to have a wide range of opportunities for the learner to construct a language to solve the problem, the process of evaluating the self-introduction of the author must be studied in terms of the practicality of the self-introduction evaluation will be. |
