Analysis of Student Needs in General Education for Fostering Creative Leader Competency

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to measure the creative leader competency of college students and to investigate the needs of general education. 1,230 valid responses from students in S university were analyzed. According to the results, social and affective domain of creative leader competency appeared were relatively high, but the score of cognitive domain including divergent thinking was low. The higher the level of student engagement, the higher the level of creative leader competency. Out of students need for improvement in general education, the demand for offering various general education courses was the strongest. In analyzing the importance of competency, communication ability was the most important ability, followed by creative problem solving ability. The higher the level of creative leader competency, the higher the needs of improvement in general education and the importance of competency. This study would give implications to improve general education for fostering creative leader competency in college students further.
