Abstract |
This paper deals with finding an effective learner-centered educational method for college education. We observed two class activities for Urban Space and ICT’, which is an interdisciplinary liberal arts course in an engineering school in Korea. The course has taken a flipped learning method to practice learner-centered education. In this study, we compared two case classes offering different guidances for learning the subject of Urban Space and ICT ; in one class, students have developed idea and visualized by sketches and hand craft, but instead of making, the other class has more focused on experiencing group discussions in vary sizes. To verify the difference of educational effectiveness between two classes, we surveyed the students who took the classes in the beginning and end of the semesters. The result confirmed the effectiveness of flipped class. In addition, the result proved that the students competencies can be differently improved by different guidances and activities. |
