The study on formal expressions for speech education

Abstract
This study is aimed at presenting the effective educational contents and methods about formal linguistic expressions in the formal speech education that is one of the liberal education in the university. For the purpose of this, we analyzed the university students presentations and abstracted properties of the informal linguistic expressions. Futhermore, we analyzed the various experts speech and then abstracted the properties of the formal linguistic expressions. The aspects of formal linguistic expressions are classified into lexical elements, syntactic elements, phonetic elements and so on. Each properties are analytically presented. Especially, through these comparative studies, we found that phonetic elements are very important in the formal linguistic expressions. For the purpose of applying the properties of formal linguistic expressions to speech education, the checklist was composed. Using this checklist, students are able to check their speech by themselves. If students can evaluate their speech analytically, they will be able to improve their speech, too.
