Abstract
This study is about the education which is trying to call humanistic introspection into the result as critical writing with specifically targeting drama text of the traditional play genre at the position of liberal education which should recall the value of humanity. It is also a methodological suggestion to efficiently do critical writing about the movie by Francois Ozon, . The specific teaching method is urging to do critical writing with the use of the intertextuality of drama and image after reading the drama by Juan Mayorga, which corresponds to the original work. This teaching method is not new, but aimed to fully utilize the advantages which are given by play genre of drama and image text. The reasons to select this text as follow; First, students are main in this text. Second, this deals with the meaning of writing. Third, various subjects including ethical issue can be introspected in this text. Fourth, the difficulty level of intertextuality of drama and image is appropriate. It is focused on the capability to interpretate image text by students themselves and minimize the theoretical knowledge to differentiate critical writing in major subject. To do this, the establishment of hypothesis based on discussion points uncovered after reading drama text is firstly needed. Next, new points should be generated by comparison process of overlapping previous discussion points after reading image text. Then, writing the statement and discussion about this can be followed. This process can provide students the opportunity to review and revise the missing parts in drama by themselves. When critical writing is done after this process, it can reflect the result of hard thinking to writing. What trying to get through this is to recognize the minimum value of the objectivity in critical writing where the objectivity is important. It is also important in writing education for students having difficult tasks to feel the sense of accomplishment from finding the easy path which is already provided by teachers by themselves.
