Abstract
This research delves into the case of the Christian Liberal Art Education at Soongsil University and the theory of Paul Tillich in order to suggest the theoretical basis for creativity and ethics education. To begin with, this study deals with the current situation of Christian Liberal Arts Education about major Christian Universities in Korea as a preceding research. Secondly, a case study is conducted based on “the 2016 lecture evaluation of ” at Soongsil University as it analyzes the pros and cons of Christian Liberal Arts Eduction at Soongsil University. In addition, this research proposes a theoretical foundation of Christian Liberal Arts Education in terms of Tillich s ontological understandings of humanity. He argues that the basis of culture, ethics, and religion is related to the signification of self-creativity, self-integration, and self-transcendence. Lastly, this study applies Tillich analysis of human existence into the practice of Christian Liberal Arts Education.
