A Model Study of Reading Instruction based on Materials and Strategies

Abstract
Foreign learner who is going to go to Korea due to the improvement of the international status of Korea and the Korean Wave is required to write logically and creatively in the university, but they are having difficulties in learning and writing for their limitations. For this reason, this study suggests that instruction using reading strategies, including discussion after reading, will become effective method in making contents of writings as well as reading recall to foreign learners. In consequently, this study is to present what kind of reading instruction model should be included and what kind of process should be done through concrete instruction based on the assumption that it is effective in generating the content of the writing. Based on the observations thus far, it is suggested that the input of reading materials that reflects the structure of various academic purpose writing should be internalized by their background knowledge along with their reading strategy, It can be an important educational resource to apply. In addition, it can contribute to development of reading process with various reading teaching methods by presenting a reading materials and reading strategy for overseas Koreans and foreign learners.
