A Study on the Recognition and Demand for Writing of Science and Engineering Students

Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the students writing awareness and anxiety of science and engineering students. I wanted to check the situation on the writing of science and engineering students. The students of the science and engineering department studied the perception of writing and tried to clarify the anxiety caused by their writing. Based on this, we analyzed the students requirements of science and engineering students. From June 20 to June 27, 2015, 207 students from K - metropolitan area were randomly selected and used for final analysis. The questionnaire consists of 12 questions. The survey method was measured by the self - diagnosis method and the questionnaire items were constructed in the following way. 1) recognition of the importance of writing, 2) evaluation of past, present and future of writing, 3) awareness and overcoming of writing anxiety, and 4) requirements for writing education as a learner.
