Abstract
The purpose of this article is to develop teaching methods of writing a future autobiography by dint of reading literature. Some conclusions are to be drawn. First, literature education is composed of the strategies which use and promote characteristics of each genre of the literature through the recovery of affection. L Etranger, A Doll s House, Waiting for Godot, and The Lover are used as Literary works. Reading based on sentences and characters induces students to concentrate on impressive sentences more effectively than underlying literary theory. Second, students are required to write an outline of the future autobiography. Then, in the therapeutic writing stage students use both the first person and the third person. Lastly, students are required to write their future autobiographies by making use of sentences on literary works, which could be interpreted as an adaption of the original story. Through the writing activity, they are supposed to show their imagination, visualize their future selves in detail, and ultimately approach a humanistic accomplishment. To sum up, Writing an future autobiography is very helpful to build creative challenges, future-oriented thinking, and self directed problem-solving capabilities in knowledge based society.
