Abstract |
American Universities has introduced Freshmen Seminar for reducing drop-out rate of university since 1800’s. After that, the trend of Freshmen Seminar has increased and been practiced in more than 90% of universities of United States. Because Korean universities recently confront very serious circumstances-reducing school age population, lack of scholastic ability, and high drop-out rate in freshmen and junior, Korean universities has also introduced and keep practicing this program. Therefore, this study firstly aims to analyze operational status through investigate how Freshmen Seminar shows substantial effect with increasing demand of the freshmen education in university. Furthermore, this study secondly aims to introduce and analyze S university s Freshmen Seminar program from 2014, and to suggest improvements of program. This study wishes to set a baseline for using Freshmen Seminar program through checking the validity and the achievements of program that can help student s Adaptation for college life introducing program for university s life, future plan, and understanding and pride of their own school. |
