Social Science as ‘Activeness’and ‘Participation’ - in case of ‘Social Science Project’in Catholic University of Daegu

Abstract
Social Science has been the academic area of knowing and practice in/on society from the first. But Now, Social Science as autonomous discipline seems to lose its crosspoint of soceity and itself, result in isolating itself as abstract theory and definions from real soceity. Social Science has been losing its possibility of giving students the prospect of society. I tried to seek the possibility of Activeness’and ‘Participation’: in case of the subject‘Social Science Project’in Catholic University of Daegu(2nd semester, 2014). First, I tried to reflect theoretically on the concepts like ‘individual’, ‘structure’, ‘practice’, and the relation between ‘space’and ‘region’. Second, I proceeded the peer review programme and ‘knowing regional society’programme in the ground of the identity of student’s active social actor. This subject,‘Social Science Project’provoked learners to spect the problems and suggest the ideas of solving them by adopting the method of social science. The learners of this subject, ‘Social Science Project’, reported their experiences of developing creativity of relating the knowledge of their major and social problems.
