Self-evaluation of the Communication Education in Sungkyunkwan University

Abstract
This study tries to evaluate the current level of communication education in Sungkyunkwan University in terms of educational participants, contents and conditions, and then to set the next goals. In dimension of the educational participants, it belongs to a higher class in Korea, but to a middle class internationally, because the status of them is not stable enough, but to some extent. In dimension of the educational contents, it belongs to a higher class in Korea, because every course belonging to communication education area has got a clear educational goal and settled its own teaching methods. But internationally it belongs to a middle class because the relationship between courses is not systematic enough. In dimension of the educational conditions, as for class size it belongs to a middle class both in Korea and internationally, so we should endeavor to reduce the class size to less than 30. As for educational supporting systems, it belongs to a higher class in Korea, because University College functions normally and Writing Clinic is actively operating. But internationally it belongs to a middle class because The Writing Center has been abolished and TA for classes is not supported.
