Abstract
In this study are the problems which the universities in Korea have nowadays, i.e. university-factorism, job-supermacism, information-pragmatism, assessment, analysed. As Husserl regarded the crisis of european science as the crisis of humanity, the crisis of university education leads to the crisis of society. At first, the korean universities have changed into a factory, which makes ready-made students, and in this factory professors have changed into machines which produce academical writings. Secondly, the universities turn into the institutions of vocational training. As though training of future members of society is one of most important functions of university, society wants university to be a institute of vocational training. Thirdly, the korean univerisities are swayed by university assessment which is connected with financial support of government. No one mind for whom and what the assessment should be done. To conclude, university should maintain right distance from society and social needs. Without this distance would the university be so deeply influenced by society that the university could not criticize the society and give the future vision of society.
Key Words: higher education, university education, factorism, information-pragmatism, assessment, distance of university from society
