Abstract
The importance of writing course at universities in Korea has been emphasized since 2000. Nonetheless, it is not easy for learners to feel better about their own writing skills within the given period of education. I would like to suggest that the so-called aesthetic writing training makes learners shortly feel better about their own writing skills. The training is derived from Christoph Menke’s exhaustive discussion on the aesthetics of feeling. Its point is as follows: anyone has to express his or her feelings through the episodes described with his or her own words, though he or she always does it imperfectly. It is identified that learners’ writing skills are clearly improved after the learners write their essays based on the training. So, I hope that this thesis can stimulate the discussion on the improvement of writing skills.
Key Words: aesthetic training, philosophical writing, self-reflective essay, aesthetics of feeling, concrete concept
