Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to present a methodology of providing customized convergence-based programs to Chinese students studying in Korea, setting them as education consumers in Korea. Universities in Korea should create subjects, or programs which fulfill various demands of times and society through interdisciplinary convergences because the existing faculties or departments of traditional concepts in universities in Korea can not satisfy various demands in economic and social and cultural aspects. Additionally, it is impossible to operate independent faculties or departments only for the students from abroad. Accordingly, convergence-based programs consisting of language for specific purposes, general education and major subjects, and convergence-based subjects should be combined and operated. If both the academic advisory system and the career coaching system are integrated, complementing each other, convergence-based programs in linkage with language for specific purposes, general education and major subjects, and convergence-based subjects will be operated more effectively. When all the academic affairs will be guided by the academic advisory system, and the consulting on the students career and aptitude will be provided through the career coaching system, appropriate package programs customized for Chinese students studying in Korea will be combined, and convergence-based programs will be operated in accordance with their purposes. |
