The general education and the converging writing - An example from a freshman writing class

Abstract
We could take the interdisciplinary or the convergence as key words, through the writing education, which are for programs to increase the ability of communication toward strengthening the general education and also for the integrative general education to aim at the holistic personality. It would include meanings that the writing education could contribute to several specialties and could head for the integrative education course to crossover each specialty. It is the converging writing as one of the general education programs that could realize these meanings. The purpose of this study is to explain the concepts and characteristics of the converging writing. And then, after introducing the concepts of the complexity to do the converging writing, we could consider briefly to combine the complexity with the converging writing. We also discuss how we could teach the converging writing by way of analyzing the cases in the writing course. Finally we would notice several points which could be expected through the converging writing.
