A Study on the Interdisciplinary Integrated General Education Curriculum in the University of Science and Technology

Abstract
This study proposes the interdisciplinary integrated general education curriculum to check up the current status of general education and enhance its quality level in the university of science and technology. The interdisciplinary integrated general education curriculum comprises and . The objectives of interdisciplinary integrated general education curriculum are as follows. First, it helps students blend knowledges crossing over the boundary of learning and raise their capability to solve the complicated problems. Second, it helps students have broad visions and balanced discernments toward human and society through more systematic curriculum. And the professors who teach these subjects should clearly present ‘educational objective’, ‘teaching-learning method’ and ‘evaluation method’. At this moment, the teaching-learning method can realize an educational objective, and the evaluation method can evaluate the performance of educational objective. The educational objective of is to cultivate ‘critical thinking’ and ‘communicative competence’ and the educational objective of is to cultivate ‘creative problem solving ability’ and ‘collaboration ability’. What should be institutionally supplemented to run these subjects are the effective utilization of ‘e-learning system’ and the opening a center to instruct a communicative competence.
