A Study on Explaining Necessity and Finding Efficient Ways of Experimental Practice for Science Liberal Arts Education in University

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explain necessity of experimental practice and the matters that should be kept in mind for the course development, to seek policy measures for efficient operation after it outlines the current status of the absence of universities that run related courses despite of the need for experimental courses to achieve the goal of science liberal arts education during the 4th Industrial Revolution. The meaning and role of the experimental class were explained through the theoretical research and factors affecting the effectiveness of the course was analyzed based on the lecture data and the questionnaire for the students after performing participant observation in the lecture at the Seoul Science Center. It also summarizes the problems of administrative procedures through case study. As a result of the study, it was suggested that the degree of difficulty should be adjusted and the factors such as mobilization of skilled instructors, change of evaluation method, and introduction of experimental credit system through linkage with base facilities should be considered.
