In addition, the National Clearing house for Leadership Programs at University of Maryland provided the information about undergraduate leadership courses that were offered at the various colleges and universities. One of the areas that many programs emphasize in the leadership education was the theoretical aspects of leadership. The social change model was one of the most widely adopted theoretical framework in the leadership education. The social change theory is based on the seven core values, so-called “seven Cs” : consciousness of self, congruence, commitment, common purpose, collaboration, controversy with civility, and citizenship. Many institutions emphasized the experiential aspects and offered the opportunities for internships at federal, state, and local community organization.
